Of course. He was just a local lad who loved the team. He was always around, buddying up with the players. He’s still very involved with Port Vale. When he became famous, nothing really changed. He showed up at testimonials and other special occasions. When I retired, he sent me a large bouquet of flowers, and when I moved to the United States to work as a broadcaster for NBC Sports, he invited me to visit him at his house in Los Angeles.
