What’s the best way to look younger? Botox? Organic juices? Toy boys? No, it’s being photographed in front of ancient monuments. Which is why I packed my camera and headed for a place that has the oldest relics of all – the Nile.

Egypt haemorrhages history and mystery. To get your mind around the awesome majesty of this ancient civilisation, on history’s timeline, Cleopatra is closer to us than she is to the pyramids, which were constructed around 2000BC. The Queen of the Nile could have taken Mark Anthony there sightseeing, to look at old stuff.

Now, to a frazzled, menopausal mother of two, BC stands for Before Children – that blissful time of carefree fun before the tyranny of toilet-training and school runs. And,
