A Hundred Valentines

FEBRUARY WAS HERE, and I was ready to tackle it. I’d wiped down my farm table and laid out my valentine craft supplies: Victorian postcards and calling cards I had spent the year picking up at flea markets. Pens in assorted col ors. Angel stickers. Photo corners. Scissors. Spray glue. Vintage lace. This season’s annual postage stamps. I had enough stuff to make 100 valentines, and I’d counted about that many people on the list to receive them.

Growing up in a family who didn’t do valentines,, I thought, looking at my mess of supplies. Love could be an awful amount of work. Was it possible I’d gone overboard?
