DR. OROC
One of the driving reasons behind the formation of Kiteworld magazine was a desire to better understand what Kite Culture really is, and to provide a forum to represent that culture to the considerable numbers that will be joining our sport over the next few years. Kiting is the bastard child of half-a-dozen disciplines, and the movement that most represents the freeriding dreams of the 21st century. It is now therefore an entity all of its own, and in an effort to define what Kite Culture really is, Kiteworld has commissioned the renowned field phenomenologist Dr. James Oroc to submit a regular column, in which he promises to spare no efforts in searching for the very soul and beating heart of this newly christened Kite Culture. Kiteworld recently sent the good doctor to Cabarete in the Dominican Republic, which he believed to be one of the prime incubators of current Kite Culture. He was so impressed by what he found there, he bought a house and now refuses to return. This is his third report.
