The Wedding PLANNER
THE STORY SO FAR: The wedding Kirsty has planned for Phoebe and Ash in Jamaica is going perfectly, except for one thing. She hasn’t been able to contact the bride and groom, or any of their friends back in the UK. She’s managed to convince Phoebe’s parents, Fred and Linda, that everything is fine, but she’s seriously worried. She meets Ash’s mum, Helen, at Sangster International Airport and, during the drive back to the hotel, Helen confides she’s only there because Fred and Linda generously paid for everything. She tells Kirsty that Phoebe’s parents are keen to set the couple up in business once they’re married, and Kirsty thinks that they will never have to work for anything. At last, Kirsty manages to get in touch with Phoebe’s best friend Becky, who apologises for the silence and adds that she’s working on it. But working on what?
Kirsty slumped down on her bed, exhausted. Pretending everything was fine was hard enough, but not knowing what to do was even worse.
She had no experience of a bride and groom going AWOL just before the wedding, but that’s exactly what Phoebe and Ash had done.
At least if they were in the same country, she could go round to their flat and see them face to face.
