Do we need a new model budgerigar?

THIS question poses a real predicament for me. My initial thoughts were that no, we don’t need a new standard. But I made the notes and then I looked carefully again at the current standard, and started to have serious doubts.

My first thoughts were not really about changing the standard but trying to standardise what judges are doing in relation to the ideal.
