MULTIFACETED MASTERWORK
Be it behind the turntables or in more recent years with a paintbrush in his hand, Terry Urban is considered a creative guy by many.
As the world began to open, we sat down to chat with Urban on where his creativity was at the moment. We started with the obvious questions, such as how the past 16 months after recently returning to SoCal from New York has impacted the way he expresses himself through art.
I guess it’s been an explosion of creativity,” Urban told High Times, “I think I feel as far as everybody is concerned, that COVID was a learning curve for some people. As far as not having to work a nine to five and actually being creative, you know? Because you didn’t have a nine to five to work at anymore, so you had to figure out what to do with your life. So I think a lot of people became more creative in this time period of this pandemic.”
At the same time, did he think more people getting in touch with their artistic side helped create more patrons for folks like himself?
“Absolutely, [I] have friends that started knitting, making clothes, painting, drawing, you know, all kinds of craziness. Tons of people.
