re-Covid we’d been talking about ‘over-tourism’ and the impact that overseas visitors seemed to have on the domestic tourists’ ability to enjoy their own country. Even so, on entering Springfield, just 65km west of Christchurch, it was a surprise to see a Waka Kotahi NZTA sign written in Chinese.
