I WAS SO YOUNG

Cradling my baby boy, Charlie, my long auburn locks fell off my shoulder and tickled his face.

Smiling back up at me with a cheeky giggle, I could see the huge resemblance between him and his dad, Sean, 36.

Mine and Sean’s first year of parenting was harder than we ever could have imagined

In December 2019, just eight months after Charlie was born, our family suffered a huge loss.

We devastatingly lost my dad, Murray, who was 68 at the time, to dementia.

My mum, Sue, looked like she’d had her heart stolen from her on that day.

My oldest brother, Craig, 39, moved in with Mum and Dad a couple of weeks before he passed away.

Craig stayed with Mum to take care of her afterwards, too.
