10 QUEER THINGS TO BRIGHTEN WINTER DAYS

1 Rah-rah for Lesbian Love

Good news for fans of ’90s indie film But I’m a Cheerleader (starring icons Natasha Lyonne and Clea DuVall) — well, if you’re near London, anyway. The queer cult classic that follows a closeted lesbian cheerleader on her journey through conversion therapy, first love, and ultimate self-acceptance has been adapted into a full-fledged stage musical. But I’m a Cheerleader: The Musical is being directed by Tania Azevedo and choreographed by Alexzandra Sarmiento, with book and lyrics by Bill Augustin and music by Andrew Abrams. It will run from February through April at the Turbine Theatre in London.
