I couldn’t agree more with Richard Curtis saying that comedy actors are always overlooked at the Oscars. Some outstanding performances have gone unrecognised in the past, such as Will Ferrell in Blades Of Glory, Madeline Kahn in Young Frankenstein, Richard Pryor in Stir Crazy and Steve Martin for The Man With Two Brains. It’s a shame all those fabulous portrayals didn’t get the acclaim they deserved simply because they were in the field of comedy. STEPHEN MCCARTHY, GLASGOW
