HEAVYWEIGHT SENSORY OVERLOAD

BMW’S i4 IS A breath of fresh air for an Aussie EV market dominated by SUVs and crossovers. It helps that the i4 is based on probably the prettiest of BMW’s sometimes-challenging-looking portfolio, the 4 Series Gran Coupe. Finally, EV buyers not wanting an SUV have a choice that isn’t from the Mind of Musk, looks good, and, with any luck, just might help reboot the EV sedan.

Except it’s not really a sedan, it’s a Gran Coupe which is the liftback/four-door-coupe shape the Germans fell in love with before ruining SUVs with awkward coupe rooflines. More to the point, it’s a car.
