THE Gateshead & Newcastle BS Gold Championship show was held in Swalwell Community Centre on September 3. The judges Norma Phillips, Dennis Cairns, Tom McCrindle and Robert Ellis, along with trainee judge Dave Purdue, had before them a benched entry of 327 budgerigars. Dennis Cairns stepped in to judge after Robert Campbell had to pull out due to personal reasons.
