Leopard Among the Sheep

AT ONE time, before Namibia became independent, a couple of American friends and I owned a game ranch near the village of Maltahöhe in southern South West Africa. It was just on the edge of the escarpment leading down to the Namib Desert and had high mountains on and around it, with magnificent scenery. There were large numbers of gemsbuck, springbuck and some kudu on the property and my clients took a few excellent trophy gemsbuck bulls there – nothing under 40 inches!
