Anna Torv may not have trodden the soapie path to fame typical of a lot of Australian actors, but that’s not to say she didn’t put in the hard yards before finding success.
After graduating from Sydney’s National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2001, she picked up supporting roles in White Collar Blue, Young Lions, McLeod’s Daughters and The Secret Life of Us. A short stint in London and New Zealand followed, and she soon found herself back in Australia – a pull she would feel several more times in the years to come.
