The first time I boarded a 747-800, I was four years old. It was the first of many, many trips as an airline brat, and on that night we were boarding a flight to New York. I'm not sure the memories I have of this trip are actually my own; they're muddled with subsequent trips to New York (I'd visit another 22 times with my dad) and anecdotes from my parents, but I remember it was cold.
