Just “Sister”

Early on Christmas morning, the stockings hung full. I had an odd gift to put in one of them. A gift I wouldn’t have considered if I hadn’t felt God’s hand in it. For my stepsister, Jenny, I’d wrapped a DNA test kit, and now I felt torn. We’d been estranged for years, but finally she was back in my life, living happily with me in my house.
