SHORT COHORT

Shorts are great. We love shorts. Trousers? They can take their leg-restraining pillars and rack off. You won’t catch us being held back by swathes of unnecessary fabric. We’re particularly smitten with these espresso-hued shorts by Melbourne slow fashion label, Kateri. And not just because they’re katering (ha ha) to our long-panted aversions. They’re made to order, which means they’ll fit just right – giving you the freeing pleasure of fitted waists and bare calves. $270, katerithelabel.com

DENIM DREAMS

There’s a reason Finnish design house Marimekko has stood the test of time. They make bloody nice stuff that we really enjoy donning about town, like this printed denim jacket. It’s a tad exxy at $490 a pop, but denim is durable and, like your wise mum said, you should always take a jacket with you. Just in case. marimekko.com

$150, stalbans.com.au

WE ALL SCREAM

The best thing about being an adult with an income is the ability to buy fancy, grown-up versions of the stuff you loved as a kid. These sorbet-bright ceramic cups are inspired by 1960s Italy (making them very swish indeed) but they kinda remind us of the little metal ice-cream cups that lived in our mum’s Tupperware cupboards. They’re designed to hold gelato or affogato, but we reckon some classic Neapolitan ice-cream topped with Ice Magic and sprinkles wouldn’t go astray, either. $220 for four, alexandtrahanas.com

SPACE COWBOY

Attention, badasses: If your main goal in life is to embody a mish-mash of Ziggy Stardust and Clint Eastwood, then these metallic kicks (, ) have got
