Are Passover and Easter the same?
Passover celebrates the deliverance from Egypt when blood was smeared on the doorposts of homes. (Exo 12:13). It was symbolic of the Messiah who would shed His blood for our deliverance. The Christian celebration commemorates a series of events surrounding the death and resurrection of Christ, which originally took place during (John 1:29). 1 Corinthians 5:7 confirms that This was the understanding of the New Testament Church, and it is ours today. Dates differ because the Gregorian calendar issued by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 replaced the Julian calendar used by Israel and changed the way Easter is calculated. Approximately 89,5% of the time, Passover and Easter are in sync.
