EVERY EQUESTRIAN HAS been there — trying to strategically line up their horse to the mounting block while at the same time quickly launching themselves into the saddle before he has a chance to either swing his hindquarters out or charge off.

No good ride starts off with an argument at the mounting block and so instead of getting off and repositioning the horse multiple times it is better to try to find a solution by assessing his behaviour, advises equine behaviour consultant Corinne McCafferty.
