SWAP MEET

CAMARO CASTING NUMBERS

I have a 1970 Camaro with what I have been told is the original 350-cu.in., 360-hp engine. Can you tell me how I can easily verify that the engine components are the actual items from the factory? Can I trust the casting numbers are correct for 1970 or did those numbers also cover other years, models, and/or engine sizes? I have heard some of the 302 Camaro components would have the same castings. Thanks for any help you can offer. Your column is a great resource for some of us new to the muscle car scene.
