Team GB Coach reflects on ‘Incredibly challenging’ Olympics

Team GB’s performance at the Sailing events of the Paris 2024 Olympics made for a rollercoaster of emotion. With the regatta defined by Marseille’s fickle conditions, 12 days of unpredictable, predominantly light winds fuelled by intensely hot weather made for extreme challenges for sailors and organisers alike.

There was jubilation as Ellie Aldridge took gold in the women’s kitesurfing class, while controversy engulfed the women’s iQFOil class after Team GB’s Emma Wilson dominated the event but came away with a bronze due to a curious format designed to up the drama in the medal race.
