About this audiobook

Jennifer Gibson is desperately trying to keep her Anna Maria Island ice cream shop, Two Scoops, afloat despite a recent bout of red tide that has all but decimated the tourist industry. With her ex-husband pressuring her to buy him out of his half of the business even though sales are slow, Jenn's hopes seem to melt in the summer Sun.

Ryan Bourdain is a former semi-pro skimboarder past his prime, now paying the bills as a lifeguard and skimboard instructor. He's always had his eye on the cute ice cream shop owner but feels like a has-been loser who’s not worthy enough for her to give him the time of day.

When sandy secret admirer notes start appearing under the door of Two Scoops, Jenn enlists the help of her social media savvy friend Desi to use the sweet love letters to her advantage. Her posts go viral and business is booming again, which means Jenn will need to hire a new associate. She is surprised when out of work lifeguard, Ryan, steps in to help during an unexpected business rush. During their time working together at Two Scoops, they grow closer — though Jenn is clueless that Ryan is her secret admirer.

The characters were in their mid 30’s. This had a cute storyline but I found it a little annoying they seemed like they were in middle school. The narrators voice for Jen killed me. I didn’t like it.

The book’s “Description” reveals so much about the story I felt I had learned too much about the book to read it :(
