      What a way out of the box. From an entirely different perspective than what is the socially acceptable. I praise the author for her story and the guts to print it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. So refreshing to see someone go against the grain and write the things that should be written despite how hard it may be to understand such perspective.
      I appreciate it.

      This was a slow read, it took some time to identify with the characters, but totally worth the read! As a parent, you start having many ethical dilemmas to consider after this book. It pulled some emotions from me towards the end...

      A beautiful and heartbreaking book, written by a brave author. Written from a unique viewpoint regarding one of the scariest societal "ills" . I had never considered pedophilia as an orientation, for some reason (perhaps I did not want to view it as such, as it immediately becomes incurable). It makes sense and it explains the high recidivism rate, despite severe and extreme attempts at a "cure".

      Such a difficult concept written so well. Strengths and the weaknesses brilliantly described. I have not been touched by anything in this story but feel I have grown by reading it.

      Its been so long since i cried over a book! As a mother of two sons this book and its words hit me so hard! I wish for no mother to go through something like this!

      Really tough read on a horrendous subject, a couple of them actually. A very different perspective. And as a mother it really makes you wonder what you’d do in that situation. Very emotional book and an unexpected ending.

      I was open to the subject and read trigger warnings. Something just felt off. It’s an interesting idea to show a different side of this type of story but there was too much sympathy given to the pedophile. I understand “a mother’s love” but this mother was toxic. Saying things like “he was more of a victim than those girls” and stating that he “didnt hurt those girls” because he ONLY touched them. She also says the girls lives won’t be ruined forever but the pedophile’s life will. And that they touched him first. So gross.

      This book was hard to read at times and left you back and forth between sickened and saddened. It was very well written and offered a different perspective that most people don’t think of, leading to some very thought provoking questions.

      Just ok…the idea for the book was good and from the perspective of the mother, however it needed some major editing and more character development in regards to the father. The ending was predictable, and the ‘finale’ felt unnecessary given the lack of character exploration of its subject. There were moments of sadness that could have been more impactful.

      This book needs to have MULTIPLE trigger warnings. Will stay with me for a long time but not for good reasons. Ugly cried reading this. I hated all the characters except Noah and Katie.

      WOW! I loved this book! I never thought I’d be able to feel like a mother in a book could’ve been me. Usually I could see some things that I wouldn’t do but here it was eerie.

      As a mom this book tugged at my heartstrings. Making me think of how I would react if I were in this position. I found myself judging the parents for their decisions. I did like how it wrapped up in the Epilogue.

      Damn, damn damn heart wrenching. I have worked in the field of mental health, addiction, sex offenders since the early 90s. This gave me insights that had never occurred to me. As a mother of a son, I wanted to tear my heart out. The twists, phenomenal.!

      Once again, Lucinda Berry has made me think of something that I would never ever think of in a way that I thought I never would!! This author is an author who will either hit it out of the park or not....this one is another knockout!

      What do you do when you find out your teenage son is a monster? Yes, a real human monster.....a child molester.
      Noah, is a troubled young man, who does something that he can never ever undo. And his mother has to decide what and how is life will be lived.

      The book wrecked me at the end.....I was devastated.

      5 stars all the way up!
      highly recommended.
