About this audiobook
Anger is something we feel. It exists for a reason and always deserves our respect and attention. We all have a right to everything we feel—and certainly our anger is no exception.
""Anger is a signal and one worth listening to,"" writes Dr. Harriet Lerner in her renowned classic that has transformed the lives of millions of readers. While anger deserves our attention and respect, women still learn to silence our anger, to deny it entirely, or to vent it in a way that leaves us feeling helpless and powerless. In this engaging and eminently wise book, Dr. Lerner teaches both women and men to identify the true sources of anger and to use it as a powerful vehicle for creating lasting change.
For decades, this book has helped millions of readers learn how to turn their anger into a constructive force for reshaping their lives. With a new introduction by the author, The Dance of Anger is ready to lead the next generation.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5She never said the word codependency but all the dysfunctional behavior described is codependent. It’s so clear how that behavior doesn’t work. She teaches us to be healthy and interdependent. Really good information!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It offered some very useful insight into dealing with intense emotions in ourselves and in others through a perspective that encourages ownership of our experience and communication. All of this is great. And I imagine this book was super useful when it was written. My mom read it about 40 years ago and said it changed her. But it could still use some updating and relevant information to current times with current cultural pattern behaviors.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very helpful in identifying what I do (& others do, but that’s not the important part). It’s humbling, but there are clear steps in how to gradually make changes to stand on one’s own feet while maintaining closeness to others.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a foundational book for anyone in a relationship or wanting to understand themselves. Excellent!!!!! 10 stars. A must read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Awesome info. Super helpful. It was a little hard to follow at times because she is very intelligent and she writes from that place of great intelligence. I am an intelligent person. I could follow her, basically, but I have a very mentally demanding job and in my “downtime” I like things that are a little bit easier for my brain to absorb. LOL also, I was a little put off by the narrators tone. It felt like an older school teacher looking down her nose much of the time. All in all… None of that matters… In comparison to the content. Amazing and helpful.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Wish it was more interactive with exercises and such. Would enhance what shes saying if she contextualized the value of the strategies by practice in general or research corresponding to these ideas.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved this! Many practical examples, but summarised in a few key themes to make it digestible and easier to use in real life
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was enlightening. Gives insight into some of the why's of female behaviour
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved it !! ? . I found this book helpful and equally applicable to men.
