- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5You absolutely cannot go wrong with Karen Kingsbury! What a talent this author has! I can not read one of her books without being in tears at some point. She really tugs at your heart with such emotional stories. She is definitely on my list of favorite authors...highly recommend!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I have to agree with a prior reviewer...this is not one of my favorite collections. I like Karen Kingsbury and enjoy Christian fiction, but this particular series I was unable to truly get into these characters and the books. I do like that they have compiled all the books into one it made it easier to continue with the story...
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5this volume is three complete books. karen kingsbury is a master storyteller. each story is filled with tragedy, love and a complete love of God. easy reading book with strict biblical principals throughout. each of the two beginning books stand alone but are complete when added to the third. anyone loving good Christian fiction will love any books by ms. kingsbury.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5"Waiting for Morning" is the first story in this trilogy. It is by far my favorite and I found myself unable to put it down, staying up far too late and reading into the early morning. The characters became real and I was caught up in their lives as if they were friends. I felt their sorrow and their determination.Hannah Ryan lost her husband and first-born daughter when a drunk driver ran a red light and hit their SUV. Now the driver has hired a very well known and very successful defense attorney who specializes in drunken driving cases. He is going to need him because the District Attorney is going after a murder-one conviction. Hannah is prepared to help him in any way she can and it begins to take a toll on her relationship with her daughter that survived the crash."A Moment of Weakness" -- I was halfway through this story before I became hooked, but then I could not' put it down.Tanner knew he was going to marry Jade when they were children but his mother had other plans. She knew Tanner had what it took to become President of the United States and she was determined to help him achieve her goal...even if it meant lying to the woman he loved."Halfway to Forever" is the final book in the trilogy and here the characters from the first two books come together. It was a good story but I just couldn't get interested in this one.Tanner and Jade finally have a life together but illness threatens to tear them apart forever. Matt and Hannah find a daughter to adopt, one that is eerily like Hannah's deceased daughter. The child’s mother lost custody but suddenly a grandmother arrives on the scene and takes the child away. Hannah finds herself grieving for another lost daughter.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Book Title: "Forever Faithful Trilogy”Author: Karen KingsburyPublished By: MultnomahAge Recommended: 18+Reviewed By: Kitty BullardRaven Rating: 5Review: A beautifully written, spiritual romance that many will long to read over and over again. Karen Kingsbury is a flowing writer, her words coming together like the calmest river with just enough bumps along the way to keep you rooted and excited. I definitely recommend both the trilogy and many of her other works.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This trilogy was wonderful as always."Waiting for Morning". Hannah's husband and two daughters were on their way home from a fishing trip when they were hit by a dunk driver. Her husband and one daughter were killed. The book tells of the struggle she had accepting their deaths and forgiving the driver. Also the daughter who survived needed love. The Christian lawyer who repressented her in the court trial was of great help. "A moment of weakness invelved some gossipy women from the churck. A girl's reputation tainted by her mother's actions, and forgiveness."Halfway to Forever" involved Hannah again and her lawyer, Matt. They married and fostered a little girl. They were in the adoption process when the little girl's grandmother decided she wanted her. I also involved Jade from "A Moment of Weakness."Karen did an excellent job on all three books.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I will admit I struggled through this trilogy. It was nice, easy reading, but seemed a bit like "fluff." Sometimes fluff is what I'm looking for, but I felt that Kingsbury was trying too hard to play on our emotions. I don't mind tearing up in a book, but it can be overwhelming when it is every couple of pages. I also had trouble finding a character that I liked and identified with. This might be a good set of books for some, but it just wasn't for me...
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is actually a compilation of 3 previously published novels. First, let me emphasize that I am a Christian and I do read Christian fiction. I've even read some other Kingsbury books. These, however, aren't my favorite. As I read, I did occasionally get caught up in the story lines, but at other times, I found myself skimming. After all, it was painfully obvious from the beginning what the outcome would be. I have two major issues with them as a Christian, however. One, the non-Christians in the book are portrayed as evil idiots. That isn't realistic at all. I know several non-Christians who are decent, hardworking, caring and giving people, not the monsters this book would have them be. The situation between Christians and non-Christians is much more complicated than the cut-and-dried manner Kingsbury gives us. Second, the message that faith will be rewarded in this life is also not realistic. The characters in the novels did suffer, but in the end, life was gloriously happy again. The message? Persevere and be faithful, and life will be grand for you too. It doesn't work that way. People die, lose jobs and homes, children disappoint, and sometimes in this life, there are no resolutions to these problems. That's the true mark of a Christian - to remain faithful through all of that, even when things don't work out. I fear that new believers might assume that they will eventually be rewarded in this life after reading this book, which is so far from the truth. The stories were ok, but the message is too simplified for the world most of us live in.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A good trilogy by Karen Kingsbury. I appreciated having all three in one volume. Good writing and good stories. At first, I was put off by the sheer size & length ( a 3-in-one book ) but, once I actually began reading, they proved to be interesting works.
