About this audiobook
God Has a Name is a simple yet profound guide to understanding God in a new light--focusing on what God says about himself. This one shift has the potential to radically alter how you relate to God, not as a doctrine, but as a relational being who responds to you in an elastic, back-and-forth way.
In God Has a Name, John Mark Comer takes you line by line through Exodus 34:6-8--Yahweh's self-revelation on Mount Sinai, one of the most quoted passages in the Bible. Along the way, Comer addresses some of the most profound questions he came across as he studied these noted lines in Exodus, including:
- Why do we feel this gap between us and God?
- Could it be that a lot of what we think about God is wrong? Not all wrong, but wrong enough to mess up how we relate to him?
- What if our "God" is really a projection of our own identity, ideas, and desires?
- What if the real God is different, but far better than we could ever imagine?
No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, the act of learning who God is just might surprise you--and change everything.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is a loaded in every good sense of the word. I will be listening to this book over and over until it’s in my bones. It’s that good. I can’t hear about God the way John Mark talks about Him And just gloss over it all Or go onto the next thing. I want to let it sink in and allow Yahweh to change my life in the way I relate to, see and experience Him.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5John Mark Comer does an excellent job of describing our vast and everlasting Father. Repetitive use of Exodus 34 and the statements that Yahweh makes about His own character are profound.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing.
Wouldn’t recommend his church or him as a pastor necessarily. But this book in itself is so well written and profound.
Will be rereading. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Mind stretching, but also it felt like pieces of a puzzle being put into place. An ‘everyone should read this’ book!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book. Read all of Comer's books. I find his writing thoughtful with valuable suggestions for life. For both Seekers & Followers. Must read
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A great book that will encourage believers and unbelievers to really diver deeper into who God is vs who they think God is. I love how JMC shares the deep theological concepts that challenge you as a reader but gives illustrations that help to add clarity to the concepts that could easily be misconstrued. I appreciate the utilization of stories and also the biblical languages too. Would recommend this to anyone who is trying to figure out where they stand with their view of God.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It cleared up a lot of confusion for me. I highly recommend it to everyone one - those who believe in God and those who don't.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Did not want it to end. Love it. It kept me excited like I just wanted to listen for more. Learned so much. May God bless you abundantly
