About this audiobook
Emmie’s hope for a life with Isaac is overshadowed by a tragic loss at Fort Phil Kearny.
Isaac Liddle is keen to marry Emmie, and she knows she shouldn’t hide her pregnancy from him any longer. But before she can tell him her secret, a widower friend asks the impossible of Emmie: Will she honor her promise to his dead wife by marrying him to care for the orphaned baby?
With the Sioux Wars threatening outside the fort, Emmie’s solemn vow threatens her happiness from within. Will she honor a promise sure to break her heart—and Isaac’s? Or is there another way to find a home for her heart?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Title: A Heart’s Home (Journey of the Heart Series Book #6)Author: Collen CoblePages: 112Year: 2015Publisher: Thomas NelsonMy rating is 5 stars out of 5.The series is now complete with the last installment titled, “A Heart’s Home”. The order in which to read the books is: “A Heart’s Disguise”, “A Heart’s Obsession”, “A Heart’s Danger”, “A Heart’s Betrayal” and “A Heart’s Promise”. The story is completed, but not in the way I had expected it to in some ways and in other ways it ended happily. I think the author does a wonderful job describing the harshness of life on the plain along with the danger of sicknesses that can end a young life as well as an older one. Now the families are together and heading out to start homesteading in land open to new people, but away from land given to the various Indian tribes. As with all life, there are times when there is sadness and times of happiness which the author wove well in each book. There is faith that kept the folks in the fort from despairing for long and gave them renewed hope with each new sunrise. I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed the way Colleen Coble put the tale together and kept me on edge after each book. Life here is fleeting, but heaven is forever was one of the best thoughts I walked away with from the stories. I pray you too will be filled with hope and strengthened in faith through the tales shared.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wednesday, August 19, 2015A Heart's Home by Colleen Coble, © 2015Journey of the Heart seriesPart 6 of 6 in the Journey of the Heart series ~December 18, 1866, Fort Phil Kearny, Wyoming TerritoryWith the Sioux Wars threatening outside the fort, Emmie’s solemn vow threatens her happiness from within. Will she honor a promise sure to break her heart—and Isaac’s? Or is there another way to find a home for her heart? --author Colleen CobleMy review:This six-part novella series is a reissue of the Wyoming series, earlier works by Colleen Coble ~ Where Leads the Heart and continuing Plains of Promise, to be enjoyed by new readers and renewed by those who read them when they were first published almost a decade ago. The story continues as Emmie Croftner makes a complete turn around from "It's All About Me" to a true cherishing and respect of friendship ~ so far that it leaves her thoughts of self and longings behind. Selfless. What would you do if you kept information hidden and the longer it goes, the harder it is to relinquish because of not wanting to lose what you have? On top of revealing, being held emotionally captive by another because they know, and could tell before you got the chance? Many times, so close to say and miss the opportunity? There is more going on than meets the eye. A promise to a friend that could change everything.I like the character building throughout the conclusion of this story. Sustaining heartache and uncertainty, personal hopes and desires are set aside in recognition of the needs of others. Once separated, Morning Song returns and to the joy of Sarah, they are again reunited in their continuing friendship. For such a time as this...I would suggest, if you can, to read all novellas back-to-back. So hard to wait, but then... you had to until the next magazine issue came out... to be continued. Gladly, they are worth the wait but flow better to have then together so as some information is not rushed and others slacking, with you waiting for the climax of how it will turn out.I did not read the first two original books, and did enjoy this reissue of the Wyoming series. I would like to see it expanded further, to find out what happens after Fort Phil Kearny. With new readers, would be a great finale. Thank you to author Colleen Coble for bringing these out-of-print stories back to life. These are the six serial parts published in short installments at regular intervals, as a novel appearing in successive issues of a magazine. The blog tour dates are monthly, March through August, 2015. Book One ~ A Heart's Disguise; Book Two ~ A Heart's Obsession; Book Three ~ A Heart's Danger; Book Four ~ A Heart's Betrayal; Book Five ~ A Heart's Promise; Book Six ~ A Heart's Home.I loved the wrap up of this story and the building as each month's serial unfolded a different layer of the occupants of the heart ~ those that were trustworthy and those that were not. A good model for following Truth, trusting God's best for us. I liked how Emmie learned to rely instead of jumping to conclusions and going her own way. She believed and her actions reflected in others being able to think clearly in their decision-making choices. Very good story and this was my very favorite section. Well-written and not without suspense, as daily lives reveal daily.***Thank you to Litfuse Publicity Group for inviting me to join the blog tours for the Journey of the Heart series by Colleen Coble, and to Thomas Nelson Publishers for sending me a copy of Book Six, A Heart's Home for review. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Colleen Coble does it again and ties all the stories together. Each characters stories are interlined with each one. Emmie is expecting her first child. Amelie is a friend to them. What will happen to them. Find out what happens. Gabrielle was born and what will Jacob do?
There was a lot going on. Issac asked Emmie to marry. Will she get her wish with Issac or will she have to keep her promise and marry Jacob. Rand and Sarah are also expecting. Will they get out of the wars with all them or will they lose someone?
The three couple became really good friends and soon became family. How is Morning Song and her little boy John. Will Jakob take Morning Song and raise her son and his daughter? Find out by reading this book.
When to learn how it all began then you would need to pick up the books to this series. The stories are "A Heart's Disguise", "A Heart's Obsession", "A Heart's Danger", "A Heart's Betrayal", "A Heart's Promise". - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Colleen Coble’s Journey of The Heart series is a six book novella set that is a re-worked release from a 2-part series she published years ago. I signed up to review all 6 books, but I don’t think I would have continued with this series if I had not made that commitment. The last book, A Heart’s Home, wraps up the series, but feels rushed with missing pieces still uncovered. If you you are looking for a very light historical romance, you may like these books. If not, then I say just skip them. I know that sounds really harsh, but I had high hopes that never materialized. I was left very disappointed.Emmie Croftner has finally found true love, and she and Isaac Liddle are making plans for a future. But the unthinkable happens and Emmie has to make a choice to follow her heart or to fulfill a promise. The domestic drama develops against the very real threats of attack by the Sioux Indians. Men are dying every day, and the peril grows.Emmie Croftner’s story had a promising beginning in book 4, A Heart’s Betrayal. But the story became very predictable and formulaic. The characters are interesting, but don’t have enough development to capture the reader’s imagination. The setting and history is new and fresh, but seems to be just a prop for a romance that just didn’t have enough sizzle. The whole series could have been so much more. Other readers liked the book. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the sixth and final book in this series, and although I wanted to find out the ending, I didn’t want to leave these dear folks. While reading this last edition, my heart was in my throat, so much sadness, and yet there is much to look forward to, with God’s help. This is when we find out if Emmie will honor her friends wishes, and if all including Isaac will survive both the Indians and the harsh Wyoming weather. So many babies are on their way here, and with such conditions, and the solution for saving or not letting the Indians get them, made me cringe.Pick up this entire series; you will not be disappointed, except that it ends.I received this book through Litfuse Publicity book tours, and was not required to give a positive review

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A Heart’s Home by Colleen Coble is the last book in the A Journey of the Heart series. It is December of 1866 at Fort Phil Kearny in Wyoming Territory. Emmie Croftner is engaged to marry Lt. Isaac Liddle. Emmie is so happy, but she still has not told Isaac her secret. The her first husband was not really her husband (he tricked her). Then Amelia Campbell, who just had a baby, falls ill to pneumonia and passes away. Her husband, Jacob, expects Emmie to honor her promise to Amelia. Emmie has promised she would marry Jacob and take care of their baby if something happened to Amelia. This was before Emmie became engaged. Isaac promises he will take care of everything. The Indians are continually attacking the men as they venture out of the fort for wood. One whole unit is massacred. Someone need to go to Fort Laramie for men and supplies. Two men volunteer to make the trek. One of them is Isaac Liddle. Will he make to the fort and back (with the heavy winter blizzards) with the necessary troops and supplies? If Isaac does not make it back, then Emmie will have to marry Jacob. Will there be a happy ending for all involved?I enjoyed this portion of the book much better than part five. I give A Heart’s Home 4 out of 5 stars. It was easy to read and I enjoyed the ending. You really do need to read all the previous five sections of the book in order to understand this final part. This novel was previously published ten years ago (so it is not a new book by Colleen Coble). Ms. Coble has a nice writing style that makes the book enjoyable to read.I received a complimentary copy of A Heart’s Home from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The review and opinions expressed are my own.
