About this audiobook

""I was hooked from the very first page!” – Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of In a Holidaze

""This book is a delight."" – New York Times Book Review

A National Bestseller and winner of the Lambda Literary Award for Best Lesbian Romance! Featured on Shondaland, Oprah Mag, Bustle, The New York Times Book Review, Buzzfeed, POPSUGAR, Entertainment Weekly, Washington Post, NPR, Culturess, Vulture, and more. Named one of the Best Romances of 2020 by Washington Post, Bustle, and Buzzfeed!

With nods to Bridget Jones and Pride & Prejudice, this debut is a delightful queer rom-com about a free-spirited social media astrologer who agrees to fake a relationship with a grumpy actuary until New Year’s Eve—with results not even the stars could predict!

After a disastrous blind date, Darcy Lowell is desperate to stop her well-meaning brother from playing matchmaker ever again. Love—and the inevitable heartbreak—is the last thing she wants. So she fibs and says her latest set up was a success. Darcy doesn’t expect her lie to bite her in the ass.

Elle Jones, one of the astrologers behind the popular Twitter account Oh My Stars, dreams of finding her soul mate. But she knows it is most assuredly not Darcy... a no-nonsense stick-in-the-mud, who is way too analytical, punctual, and skeptical for someone as free-spirited as Elle. When Darcy’s brother—and Elle's new business partner—expresses how happy he is that they hit it off, Elle is baffled. Was Darcy on the same date? Because... awkward.

Darcy begs Elle to play along and she agrees to pretend they’re dating. But with a few conditions: Darcy must help Elle navigate her own overbearing family during the holidays and their arrangement expires on New Year’s Eve. The last thing they expect is to develop real feelings during a faux relationship. But maybe opposites can attract when true love is written in the stars?

""Everything I want from a rom-com: fun, whimsical, sexy."" – Talia Hibbert, USA Today bestselling author of Get a Life, Chloe Brown

What our readers think

Readers find this title to be a cute and heartwarming sapphic romance. They enjoy the fake dating and enemies-to-lovers storyline, as well as the well-developed characters. The narration is also highly praised. However, some readers felt that the ending was anti-climactic and the audio format for text messages was not well done. Overall, the book is recommended for those looking for a light-hearted and enjoyable read with a happy ending.

Um hi excuse me, playing White Christmas at that exact moment is beyond forgiveness. As is the amount of heart palpitations this story forced upon me. Also am I the only one who wanted Margot and Brenden together? Cuz wow. They’d be the cutest nerds.

This is a cute, low-angst, steamy romance. Despite the characters being named Darcy and Elizabeth, the only similarity this book bears to PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is that Elle overhears Darcy call her a hot mess after they first meet. So if you're looking for a modern P&P retelling, this isn't it.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received.

This was a cute story, and I was thrilled to finally have a sapphic romantic comedy to binge—and set during the holidays, no less! I wasn’t a HUGE fan of the writing style. Everything felt kind of drawn out to me, but that is definitely a personal preference. The story itself was cute, the romance chemical and addicting, and the characters lovable from Page 1. I love the dichotomy of the two characters and how astrology wove its way through the whole book. I look forward to seeing more from this author and more queer rom-coms as a whole!

Me gustó.

I laughed a lot and it was endearing. There were some romantic tropes I do not agree with, but nevertheless it was an enjoyable story to listen to.

Such a cute dislike to lovers romance! I appreciated how their relationship slowly develops and their friendship was so good. It also had some sexy scenes that were really great and I wasn't expecting. It's a great read!

A cute and quite light-hearted sapphic romance. Very enjoyable for a fairly easy read. The inspiration from Pride and Prejudice is recognisible more in the family dinamics than the character themselves but it is still enjoyable for fans of the Jane Austen novel, especially if you go into this book not expecting it to be a true adaptation of that but it's own story. Overall, I would recommend!

This was unbelievably cute and heartwarming! Finally a queer romcom that doesn't fade to black when things get steamy.

Bellefleur creates such wonderful characters with which the reader can instantly make a connection. It's a sweet, feel good story that makes for a perfect #lighterread.

This was super cute and I loved these two together. It was missing that special spark of something to push it to 5 stars but still a lovely read.

I loved the astrology aspect of this and that Darcy was skeptical of it all. I am a big fan of fake dating but didn’t feel the connection I was supposed to for these characters. The ending just felt rushed.

Cute little story, fake dating, wouldn't call it enemy's to lovers but for me something missed for it to be 5 stars

I absolutely loved this book. The story line of fake relationship is always a favorite of mine. The only thing that disappointed me was the ending felt a little abrupt and the one character never actually said what you were hoping her to say. I think I must be spoiled by some of my go to authors typically providing an epilogue or a time jump at the end. Definitely recommend!

Not exactly my cup of tea.
It was a good story, but it did not feel very original. Still, I thought the characters and the relationship between them were really well written and developed and I like the astrology comments we got along the way. But it also felt a bit repetitive in a sense that it would describe a feeling like 3 times in a and different way.

This was fun and a quick, easy read. I love a fake dating trope and I was excited to see it done with queer women, and I liked how well done queerness of multiple characters was done - not a lot of explaining or worrying about it, just this character is pan, this character is demi, this character is bi, and that's just how it is. Loved the kind of opposites attract vibes. I definitely want to read Hang the Moon now
