- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In 1955, 5 young missionaries who were working with other tribes in Ecuador decided to try to reach out to the Auca, a tribe with a deadly reputation. They gradually earned their trust by dropping gifts and pictures by plane. Their first contact with 3 Aucas seemed friendly, but later, all the missionaries were found dead. Some of the wives continued the ministry, and eventually some of the Auca became Christians.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A moving account of five men with a passion to bring the Gospel to a primitive, unreached tribe in Ecuador and were speared to death as they attempted to make contact. The story is told by Elisabeth Eliot, widow of one of the men who with her little girl went herself a few years later into the jungle to live with this same tribe, the Aucas, now called the Waorani. Elisabeth Eliot in later years went on to write many books and become a well known speaker.
