About this audiobook
Nominated for a 2014 Grammy in the Spoken Word category!
Hilarious and heartfelt observations on aging from one of America's favorite comedians, now that he's 65, and a look back at a remarkable career.
Billy Crystal is 65, and he's not happy about it. With his trademark wit and heart, he outlines the absurdities and challenges that come with growing old, from insomnia to memory loss to leaving dinners with half your meal on your shirt. In humorous chapters like "Buying the Plot" and "Nodding Off," Crystal not only catalogues his physical gripes, but offers a road map to his 77 million fellow baby boomers who are arriving at this milestone age with him. He also looks back at the most powerful and memorable moments of his long and storied life, from entertaining his relatives as a kid in Long Beach, Long Island, and his years doing stand-up in the Village, up through his legendary stint at Saturday Night Live, When Harry Met Sally, and his long run as host of the Academy Awards. Listeners get a front-row seat to his one-day career with the New York Yankees (he was the first player to ever "test positive for Maalox"), his love affair with Sophia Loren, and his enduring friendships with several of his idols, including Mickey Mantle and Muhammad Ali. He lends a light touch to more serious topics like religion ("the aging friends I know have turned to the Holy Trinity: Advil, bourbon, and Prozac"); grandparenting; and, of course, dentistry. As wise and poignant as they are funny, Crystal's reflections are an unforgettable look at an extraordinary life well lived.
Still Foolin' 'Em includes a portion recorded in front of a live studio audience.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Older people, listen, you could maybe relate.
Younger people, seriously here, give it a listen. it's funny, and it's poignant. It gives an very undreary look at aging. He has his complaints and he has his praises of aging. And I think it's important to hear both like this. To worry about somethings coming from age and to know when what's coming is ok.2 people found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great that the author narrates the book, only way to go for an autobiographical book of such a great and talented person.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Billy Crystal is a national treasure. His book is funny, poignant and personal. Absolutely loved it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful! I loved hearing him talk about, not only his career, but all the people he has met and worked with!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Highly recommended! I really enjoyed how some chapters were read in front of an audience and the rest spoken by the great Billy Crystal with himself only. This book captured who Billy Crystal really was and still is: A funny, sweet, warm-hearted, cranky old Jew. A must buy.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great listen! Classic Billy Crystal. He is funny, warm and insightful!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I laughed until I couldn’t laugh anymore and I discovered I was wrong because I kept laughing! Finished listening in less than 24 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed Billy’s relatable point of view. The fact that he narrates it is the icing on the cake as far as I’m concerned and I also have to say that reading parts of the book in from of an audience is a wonderful touch that I did not see coming. He tells so many stories and between his description and inflection you feel as if you are there in the moment as he tells each story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5How can you not love this guy! Grew up watching him as my dad appreciates humour and comedy. Glad it rubbed off and here we are.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I ADORE THIS MAN. Hilarious, insightful, humble, emotional and sweet. An engaging look into the amazing life of, in my opinion, one of the most underrated comedians of our time. Thank you for the laughs, Mr Crystal!
