About this audiobook
Long before Gene Roddenberry put him on a starship to explore the galaxy, long before he actually did venture to space, William Shatner was gripped by his own quest for knowledge and meaning. Though his eventful life has been nothing short of extraordinary, Shatner is still never so thrilled as when he experiences something that inspires him to simply say, “Wow.”
Within these affecting, entertaining, and informative essays, he demonstrates that astonishing possibilities and true wonder are all around us. By revealing stories of his life—some delightful, others tragic—Shatner reflects on what he has learned along the way to his ninth decade and how important it is to apply the joy of exploration to our own lives. “A refreshingly self-aware portrait of a man determined to live every moment to the fullest” (Publishers Weekly), Boldly Go is an unputdownable celebration of all that our miraculous universe holds for us.
William Shatner
William Shatner (b. 1931) is a Canadian actor, author, and film director, known for his irreverent charm and his star turn as Captain Kirk in the original Star Trek television series, as well as many other roles. Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Shatner was cast in Star Trek as the courageous, unpredictable Captain James T. Kirk in 1966. The show became a cult hit in syndication, leading to a number of spin-offs and movies. Shatner starred in seven Star Trek films beginning with Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1979. He later played leading roles on the television series T.J. Hooker (1982–86) and Boston Legal (2004–08). Shatner has also published a number of novels, most notably TekWar (1989), a science-fiction thriller that inspired eight sequels as well as video games and a television series. When he isn’t working, Shatner and his wife, Elizabeth, divide their time between Southern California and Kentucky.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The indefatigable William Shatner takes us on a winding road in this great memoir. He truly opens up about his life, the good and the bad and gives us a glimpse of who he really is...or believes he is anyway. This man LOVES life. May he have many great adventures to come...and then write about them!

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Honestly it’s a journey through the mind of a narcissist. I give him credit though. He’s come far enough life that he understands that about himself. Unfortunately he’s at peace with the idea that it’s just who he is, without much thought for changing that behavior. He does apologize for it, to George Takei in particular. He’s not horrible. He loves deeply and adores the next adventure. The book rambles a bit, like he’s trying to fit all his thoughts in because he knows his time is short. It’s worth a listen. There are good things to be taken from his insights and experiences. Just take it all in with a narcissistic grain of salt.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I experienced unexpected and true pleasure hearing William Shatner's life philosophy from his vantage point as a 91 year-old man. He continues to live his unique life with passion and delight, and has SO much wisdom to share. I found myself in tears multiple times while listening to this book. Yes, Bill, we are all somehow connected. Thank you!
