About this audiobook

“We were a thousand miles away from home when the car gave up the ghost…”

When Jack’s car breaks down in the middle of a cross-country road trip, the mysterious house at the top of the hill is a beacon of hope. If he can borrow a phone to call for help, he’ll be on his way in no time. But someone - or something - has other plans. Soon, Jack finds himself trapped in a nightmare that defies logic, where a depraved killer on the loose is the least of his problems. Will Jack escape before it’s too late?

A house full of strangers.

An unsolvable mystery.

A night that won’t end.

I only got to Chapter 2before I was tired of the inane conversation and narrator that sounded like he was reading a laundry list. The book needed a really good editor. Sounded like a first draft, not a polished final version. It sounded so good.. oh well.

Its not funny. And it was intended to be. This book is an absurd comedy that touches on what the nature of reality is. Similar in some ways to the Matrix (which it references) it plays with your expectations of what a supernatural mystery should be. The problem is not just on its humor being very superficial and annoying but so are the characters and plot. If the author had taken it seriously, i think it would have been better. There's too many "dude!"s, too many pop culture references, too many dumb jokes. This hides an interesting premise about what is reality and can we even trust our own minds. The reader is ok, the sound effects work, but the recording sounds tinny.
