She will beg, borrow or steal to achieve her dreams and give her daughter the life she deserves, even if she has to forgo sleep – even if she has to leave her dignity behind.

    Only now that she’s not just sitting in lecture theatres like her first two years of medical school, now that she’s working in a real hospital, Libby is realizing that the thread she’s been hanging onto for so long may be about to snap. Libby may not accept his help, but he’s relentless when he wants something, and it’s not long before he realizes that this mother and daughter belong with him. So when a stag night he’s on ends up in the best strip club in England and he sees who the main attraction is, his reaction is explosive.

    What our readers think

    Readers find this title to be a fantastic story with great characters and a loved narrator. However, there is a negative review that criticizes the portrayal of an autistic character and the behavior of one of the main characters. Overall, the book is engaging and the protectiveness of the male protagonist towards the female protagonist is swoon-worthy. Despite initial skepticism, readers are pleasantly surprised by the sweetness of the story. This book has the potential to become a favorite of the year.

      Highly ableist towards an obviously stereotypically autistic character which was pretty upsetting to have to listen to. Jamie was an arrogant ass who never faced any consequences for his behavior. Overall disappointing.

      Fantastic story. Realistic and real. great characters and loved the narrator! Will definitely look for more from this author!

      I read hundreds of books a year, and grant less than a handful of five stars.

      What helped this book make the list?! It’s hard to pinpoint, but for one thing, I don’t have a single criticism to offer! This book kept me engaged from beginning to end, and the fierce protectiveness the H felt for the h, even before he understood it, is the swoony stuff of which all my teenage daydreams were made.

      I know it’s way early to be predicting this, but…this might even end up being my favorite book of the year!

      Would never have predicted that a book about a stripper would be so incredibly sweet, but here we are…
