- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I wasn’t paying attention when I started this series and accidentally began with this book, #5. I realized after a couple chapters mistake. When I started over with #1 I then new a few things ahead but I have still been so surprised along the way. I can’t wait to see how it ends!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is book 5 of a 6 part serial novel. Each book is around 125 pages (give or take a few). It's set in Pennsylvania.I like Susan, Anne, and their grandparents. All very nice, giving people. I like how they treat Eddie.Sadie Stoltzfus: I understand her fears about not seeing their grandson if Meredith starts liking someone else, but she doesn't seem like a nice woman. I think she needs to approach Meredith with her "wants"--tell Meredith she wants to be involved in her grandchild's life--or approach Meredith with her fears of what will happen and the two of them talk it out, instead of her trying to sabotage things. Sadie seems like a miserable woman in general. I see one other reviewer thought Jonah's actions bordered on stalker-ish. I'm not sure on that. It could be that some of his actions are the norm in the Amish community but seem strange to us. For example, in most Amish fiction I've read, younger courting couples go to great lengths to avoid their interest in each other being known--but in this book, Jonah has told his parents and Meredith has told her parents and grandmother. So I don't know what to think. As readers, we're in the position of knowing facts that the characters don't yet know.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Hard To Put Down!Meredith is worrying about finances. Will she have enough money scraped up to pay taxes when they are due? While she still misses Luke she knows she must get on with her life. Should she move home with her parents and rent out her house? Is that the answer to bringing in extra money?Jonah is still hoping to win Meredith's heart. Should he let her know how he feels about her? Is it time to ask Meredith if he can court her? This book ended with another cliffhanger! I can't wait to read A Vow for Always, the last part of this saga. I hope it ends the way I want it too! This is a book you don't want to miss!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I enjoyed this clean, Amish book dealing with loss, grief, and a newborn. While it answered some questions, it felt like it still had a cliffhanger to it. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've rated it 4.5* . Working on getting the next in the series. Overall, a nice evening's read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Okay, the further you get into this series, the harder it is to stop reading. Each book is like a section of one novel. Don't try to read them out of order or just one as they each build upon one another and need to be read as a whole. In this story Jonah is "head-over-heels" in love with Meredith and promises to love and provide for Meredith if she will marry him. Now Meredith must decide what she should do with Jonah's proposal. Meanwhile, Luke keeps remembering small things from his past, but still can't piece together who he is. And his feelings for his nurse Susan is also growing into something special. You can feel the climax building as you finish this book and begin the last story in this series!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Meredith has her boppli in an Amish buggy along side of the road with Laurie doing the delivery and Jonah happens along and is able to call for help. Meredith and baby Levi Luke are getting along okay however Meredith is worried about her finances, she is making ends meet but not much more than that and is worried about paying the taxes.Laurie is planning her wedding to Kevin Byler whom is Mennonite and not Amish the family is still working to accept her choice.Luke "Eddie" is still with Susan and Anne's grandparents helping out and little things are starting to seem familiar to him. He gets a ride in a Hot air balloon and while in it he feels as if it is something he has fulfilled in his dreams (which he has but doesn't know it). Grandpa's straw hat looks familiar to him and his pocket watch in the end as a cliffhanger he remembers his first name.Meredith was also at the same place as Luke and she looked right at him not knowing he was her husband and still alive as he was up in the air in the Hot Air Balloon. Cannot wait to start reading the next installment.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/54 STARSLast night around 10:30pm I decided to start A Revelation in Autumn. I was only going to read a chapter or two, for the cliffhanger ending at Discovery #4. Bad mistake I know me better. Soon it was 1:30 am and I had finished Discovery #6 A Vow for Always. I still wanted more of these characters! So yes I liked this story. But I would rather have it all at once not one part every month maybe one a day even. This story is good. I love Meredith and Luke. This is not a stand alone book but the same book coming out a section at a time. You want to read it in order.Book 5 opens with Meredith having her baby inside a Amish buggy with only her younger sister Laurie. It starts strong and I could not put it down.Jonah finally admits to his family that he loves Meredith and wants to court her after her year of mourning is up.Laurie is planning her marriage. She is not going to be baptized Amish.Luke is healing and remembering little things as he gets stronger and healthier. He is growing feelings to Susan but he dares not say anything till he finds out if he is married or where he belongs.Susan's feelings are strong for Eddie(Luke) but she wants to wait to say anything till he remembers the life he has lost.I have enjoyed reading this series of Discovery by Wanda and look forward to reading more of her books in the future.I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it by Netgalley.Expected publication: June 1st 2013 by Barbour Books 128 pages ISBN:1620291460
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In this fifth installment of The Discovery series Meredith Stoltzfus has just had her baby and even though she is thrilled with baby Levi, she is also concerned about her financial situation. Yes, her parents and her in-laws would be willing to help but she wants to provide for her baby herself. How, as a single mother, will she be able to do this? Meanwhile, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Luke Stoltzfus still has no memory of his life before his accident and he now is living with a kind couple who are willing to provide"Eddie" a place to stay. To further complicate matters, "Eddie" (Luke) is beginning to wonder about his own feelings for Susan Bailey, while back in Bird Hand, Meredith has given Jonah Miller permission to court her. And then, just as the future appears to be changing for both of them, Meredith's husband begins to remember.....Once again, Wanda Brunstetter has left us anxiously waiting to learn if Meredith and Luke Stoltzfus will ever be reunited. A Revelation in Autumn is an enjoyable story that is the perfect way to introduce the conclusion of this series. Fans of Brunstetter and Amish fiction will certainly want to read this book!
