About this audiobook
Earl Marcus has faced a litany of demons in his time, but a grisly murder sends him spiraling into a vortex of long-buried secrets. After losing a hotly contested sheriff's race to the lackey of corrupt politician Jeb Walsh, Earl Marcus has had the worst summer of his life. But worst turns deadly when a body turns up on Earl's front lawn, accompanied by a cryptic letter. Earl finds a cell phone in the victim's car and tracks it to The Harden School, an old, isolated campus surrounded by barbed wire and locked gates, and catches a sneak peek at a file labeled complaints, where he finds a familiar name: Jeb Walsh. Jeb's ex-wife Eleanor had lodged multiple complaints against the school on behalf of her son, and when he contacts Eleanor, the horrifying truth begins to emerge. Desperate to make a connection between the school and the dead man, Earl journeys into a world where nothing is sacred.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Disappointing third novel. Didn’t like to listen to the sexual encounters. Simply wasn’t necessary. Also a bit repetitive, couldn’t keep up with the many chases, long drives in the dark up a mountain road. Plot was a bit too convenient. Book 1 and 2 felt much fresh and existing.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I am in shock!!! After reading his first 2 novels, and being absolutely amazed by them, I read this horse crap of a book. What a waste of time. I was so looking forward to this book. The storyline is great, but the way he wrote was so bad. Drawn on and on with so much propaganda - wow! The 1 star is for the narrator who kept me going to the finish line - otherwise, this book would have been a ZERO! What a shame.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Interesting from start to finish lots of twist and I just love Earl Marcus his relationship with Ronnie reminds me so much of my dearly deceased childhood friend. This book left nothing uncovered. I love the way the author brings deeply awareness of the characters emotions book.
