I've had about twenty-five books published for children and teens, including the popular 'Party Girls' series. I was inspired to write the 'Swallowcliffe Hall' trilogy partly by visits to beautiful old English country houses and partly by a silver housekeeper's chatelaine I found when clearing out my late father-in-law's flat. And who knows, maybe also by the clifftop boarding school I attended as a teenager, converted from a Victorian mansion with a sweeeping marble staircase and glass cases full of stuffed birds.
Now I live in London with my husband, two cats and a dog, and occasional visits from our grown-up sons. I'm currently writing another title in the 'Swallowcliffe Hall' series: 'Eugenie's Story', in which the Vyes' elder daughter embarks on the all-important task of finding a suitable husband.view less
