    Preface

    This short story contains some impolite/informal words and some name-calling. I do not speak such words in real life, but for the sake of being realistic, I had to use them in this short story.

    Part One: Present

    I shut the door.

    I searched for a place to hide. Nowhere. Just an empty room. I looked for something to shed some light. Nothing. Only dust, insects, and similar creatures inhabited the room

    I walked silently towards the middle of the room and sat there, thinking about my parents, my sister, James, my friends, the silent glow of the stars. Somehow, maybe because of all the terror and blood I saw today, I forgot all about them.

    Thirteen-years-old I was, and about to die.

    I knew that Death was slowly walking towards the room I was in. But I needed to see their faces one last time. Sadly, I could not. It may be the time for me to leave the world and head towards Leben.

    What is Leben? I am not sure. Papa told me it was a beautiful place filled with love and happiness. A place where death has never existed. A place where life dominated. A
