About this ebook
How often does a woman get to rewrite her past and stake a claim to her future in one fell swoop?
Gorgeous Shondra Frazier gets that chance. It all starts at the “40 Under 40” reception for high achievers under the age of 40. Even though she really doesn’t want the attention, she is honored because she is the first African American woman to be named manager of one of the city’s top tourist attractions.
At the reception she unexpectedly reunites with her still beautiful college ex-girlfriend who broke Shondra’s heart many years ago. Lynette Johnson is a former cheerleader who can still make male and female heads turn. As Lynette walks away promising to be in touch soon, Shondra spots Denyse Gabriel, one of the few African-American female PhD physicists in the world and a fellow “40 Under 40” honoree. Shondra realizes attention from Denyse, with her long black hair and high collar tweed jacket, is what she wants. This beautiful scientist, however, is heading to a months-long project in Antarctica, but Lynette is sticking around and is more than willing to keep her company. Shondra has to decide whether she will stay safe and start up again with her long lost college love or if she will wait for Denyse to return. Shondra can’t stop thinking about Denyse, but Shondra isn’t even that sure, after only one night of passion, whether the sexy physicist will want to see her when she comes back from the ice.
Bodies in Motion is the fourth book in the Lesbian Light Reads series, but each book can stand alone. This lesbian contemporary love story includes graphic sex and is intended for adults only.

Bodies in Motion
Lesbian Light Reads 4
I thought what I wanted was one fantastic woman in my life. I nearly ended up with two.
I hadn’t wanted to go to the Windy City Style magazine’s 40 Under 40
reception, but my co-workers cajoled me into it by reminding me about all the delicious free food that would be on offer. My friends convinced me to go by reminding me how attracted I was to smart, high-achieving women like me. Who knew I would meet two wonderful women, and they would both be sexy and smart as hell?
Just go to the damn reception, girl,
my best and oldest friend, Patrice, told me over dinner one night after work. You’ve earned it, and think of the networking!
Patrice had always been all about the networking. But I was stubborn and about to give the reception a pass. My boss basically ordered me to go. He appealed, shamelessly I might add, to my sense of loyalty and desire to do the right thing.
Besides,
he had said, it’ll be good publicity for us and for you.
Publicity. Yeah. Ever since I’d been named manager of one of the major tourist attractions in the city, if not the entire state, I’d been getting lots of attention. I was not only the first woman to be named manager of the city’s redeveloped pier. I was also the first woman and the first African American to be so honored. And I’m under 40 years of age to boot. I was lots of firsts in one person. I’d done interviews with local TV news when I got the promotion and had been invited to speak at various conferences and meetings. My friends teased me about being a celebrity. It was a heady experience. I wasn’t entirely comfortable with it until my nine-year-old niece Naya told me how much she liked seeing me on TV and reading about me on news websites. She was a cute, smart kid who had me wrapped around her little finger. I couldn’t be all pouty about the attention I was getting when it made her so happy.
And then a guy named Matt from Windy City Style called to tell me that I’d been chosen as one of the bright young things to be featured in the magazine’s annual 40 Under 40
spread. My boss, who seemed to know everything before everyone else, knew that I had been chosen and congratulated me right after I got off the phone. When I thought about it later, it occurred to me that my boss probably had something to do with me being chosen.
The photo shoot for the magazine spread was unexpectedly fun. I went to the salon the day before to get my hair relaxed, get a facial and be fussed over. I told my stylist about the photo shoot, and she insisted on styling and waxing my eyebrows. The next day, I entered the studio feeling beautiful. That felt good, and the photographer was this a good looking young woman named Naomi. I noticed that her smooth skin was much lighter than mine. When I got the chance to chat her up, I learned that she was half African American and half Chinese. She was slow to smile, but I succeeded in making her laugh, so I considered the shoot a success. And the photos came out great, too.
The day of the reception was hectic. An elderly woman had a heart attack on
