      He Was There.

      I drift towards sleep, and I see him.

      Not clearly, more it is a sensing, not viewing.

      I feel his breath once more as it teases the tendrils on my brow.

      I hear his heart begin to beat in rhythm with mine.

      I taste his smile against my lips.

      I smell the pure masculine scent of his sweat.

      I finally sleep in the security of his strength.

      In the morning I awake to an empty bed that has held only me.

      Yet last night I knew he was there.

      How else can you explain what I experienced?

      Like the after effect of an earthquake there is a deadly calm in the morning air.
