About this ebook

Shadow Man

"That's what I am.

A shadow among shadows.

The Shadow knows.

I laugh at that phrase.

An old pulp fiction hero of the movie serial days.

He was fantasy.

I'm not.

There are bad people in this world.

They better hope I don't find them!

    Prelude

    Dark knows dark.

God! He had cried out in his own language.

Not really, I said with a smirk.

Kill him! The Dark Hand ordered.

That was when I noticed I had stepped into a hall filed with the suckers.

    Hundreds of them.

    All armed.

All ready to do a favor for the leader.

Ready to shred me to bits.

    They wouldn’t die.

    Right away.

But they’d have a lot of time to think about their errors in kindness and logic.

    At my right.

I grabbed one of them by his throat, flung him.

    Scream.

    I didn’t.

I turned and grabbed the attacker by his wrist, yanked.

He flew behind me into the shadow lands, screaming as if he were going to hell.

    Not really.

    But close enough.

The shadow lands were not for the meek.

Then I turned about to face the remaining hundreds.

It was going to be a long and weary night.

    They charged me.

    I charged them.
