About this ebook

She put four bullets in a cop, and she didn't care if he lived or died.

Kendra was tired of being threatened. DEA Agent Uriel Vasquez had been the root of most of her problems, and he had made himself an easy target.

The law was coming down hard on her. Some wouldn't be satisfied unless she was locked up for life.

That's where they made their mistake. They gave her too much time to plan.

DIRTY MONEY DIRTY DEEDS is told in short, fast paced episodes WITH CLIFFHANGERS..

Dirty Money Dirty Deeds - Nico Jackson

Kendra smiled when she felt Jay’s hands on her waist. He was standing behind her, so close that she could feel him breathing. He put his cheek next to hers. His scent mingled with the smell of gunpowder. His beard tickled her face. He reached around her and put his hands under her wrists.

Squeeze, he said. Don’t jerk. Think about your breath. If you have to shoot someone, the adrenaline will make your heart and your breathing fast. You have to learn to slow it down. Now aim.

She put the muffs on her ears and pointed her gun toward the target. Jay had taken her to buy a semiautomatic pistol. She had gotten a concealed carry license, and they had practiced every morning. She had gotten used to the noise and the smell of gunpowder. Now she could fire without flinching.

You got this, he said softly. Remember when to stop breathing. Now go.

She paused, then made two shots. Then two more. Then another two. She put the gun on the counter. He reached around her and hit a switch. The target came to them.

Jay looked at the target, then nodded. Good job. He’s as dead as he can get.

    I’m getting better.

Yeah, baby, you are. He replaced the target and sent it back. Again.

    Slave driver.

He stood behind Kendra, slid his arms around her and kissed her cheek. Go.

    You’re distracting me.

Am I? Reload. We’re doing the draw now.

Kendra reloaded the gun and put it in her holster. Jay took a step back.

Remember, Jay said. Focus. Target, front sight, back sight. Ready?

    She nodded.

    Pull!

She took aim, fired six rounds and retrieved the target. The shots were clustered in the bullseye. She looked at it and then turned to him. Well?

Remind me to not piss you off. Had enough?

She clicked the safety and put her pistol on the counter.Yes. I roasted a chicken yesterday. Do you want to come over for lunch?

Sounds good. We can eat, then you can clean your gun. He got their jackets from a hook on the wall and held her coat for her.

Jay, tell me something. Why are we doing this?

He took her gun off the counter and put it in the case. You didn’t question me when I said you needed to carry. Does that mean you trust me?

    It does.
