    I sat there listening to

    the state prosecutor going on and on about what my fate should be. My eyes searched the jurors for a glimpse of hope. As they heard the prosecutor tell them, I am a murderer and guilty as charged for the murder of my husband.

    The fact was I am just as much in love with Daniel Edward Winston (Danny) today as when we first dated and then married 23 years ago. I would never have killed the love of my life. We were happy, prosperous, loving Christ, and our children.

    It had been six long months of incarceration in a deep dark hole that changed my life completely.

    With the closing arguments that day I was praying to get my life back. Well, as much as possible. Living without Danny will take some time. He was my rock, my best friend, my soul mate, and a gift from God.

    The memories had continued to flood my mind of the day Danny was murdered, and I was in shock. That was when it felt like my life crashed and burned. To make matters worse three days after Danny’s funeral I was arrested.

    The prosecutor was still talking, how much can he say about this one thing, the one thing I am innocent of doing?

    I sat there holding the tears back; my children were sitting behind me I knew, I had to be strong whatever the outcome would be.

    Those chairs were so uncomfortable, old hard wooden chairs that were worn down they had seen better days. The marks on the wooden table show the written and jotted information pressed into them by trial lawyers over the years. The nicks and bruises from briefcase poundings and sweaty hands had dulled the finish.

    There I sat looking tattered and worn-out in my delicate Prada pale blue dress with a gold Chanel heart; my heels are Oscar de la Renta, classy and chic is what my attorneys wanted me to wear classy and chic. My attorneys were from the firm of Dalton, Bieber, Smith, and Warren. The
