    INTRODUCTION

    Are you experiencing sleeplessness or restlessness at night, feeling moody, depressed, helpless or powerless, forgetting little things and having trouble concentrating, or just overwhelmed and isolated? Do you dream of feeling in control, balanced, alive and complete? You’re probably suffering from some type of anxiety and you’re not alone. More and more people, including increasingly younger ones, are finding themselves weighed down with a significant amount of stress and anxiety.

    The Vision

    As a professional counselling therapist, I developed Anxiety Re-patterning Therapy (ART) with over 25 years experience. In March 2020, the COVID pandemic changed life around the world. Based on ART, this workbook was developed as a response to the resulting rise in anxiety and panic. All parts of my innovative approach are grounded in scientific research. Yet my in-depth experience in the field is where I learned what works and what doesn’t. Over the course of my career, I found that many people suffer from anxiety for years without effective long-term treatment. I realized that something beyond mainstream therapy was needed.

    My inquiry, over the course of my career, took me to the source of anxiety that lies in the subconscious. Currently, my program combines both conscious and subconscious techniques that work together for real and sustainable change. I have created this comprehensive workbook to help you understand the source of your anxiety and to support you in an adventure of discovery. Think of this process as your own Hero’s Journey. As you go deep within to identify what is really triggering your anxiety, you will find out who you really are beyond the conditioned, limiting walls of your psyche.

    What is Anxiety Therapy at Home: Dancing with Your Shadow?

    The program consists of a combination of therapeutic education, tools and strategies that emulate my professional counselling therapy and that I have found to work best. The workbook is set up as a self-guided and comprehensive sequence of stages. Each stage contains four stepping stones. Just like counselling therapy, your experience is one of peeling back layers of your psyche. It all takes time, patience, focus and commitment. For now, celebrate where you’re at — whatever that looks like.

    You are able to work through your process at your own pace and in the privacy of your own home.
