About this ebook

Renowned channeler Paul Selig shares the wisdom of The Guides

"The gift of the times you sit in, humanity at a crossroads, is the gift of the unknown, the unseen, the unprepared for. “How can I prepare for a future, when all I have trusted and believed in seems to be falling away?”…You say yes to the uncertain moment. You agree that the path before you will be lit as you walk it, and not a moment before. "

In Alchemy: A Channeled Text, The Guides offer us a way to engage the transformational process of moving beyond a limited interpretation of the self and into a place of true manifestation. As humanity stands at a crossroads, the voices of The Guides offer insight and a path forward.

Paul Selig, the author of Beyond the Known: Realization, is one of the foremost spiritual channels in the world. Alchemy is composed of the pure, unedited words of The Guides as they have been channeled through Paul. INTRODUCTION

    DAY ONE

Why do you ask questions—What will come of me? What will happen one day? How will I know if? What am I to do if?—when the moment you sit in is the only moment you may know? Everything else is conjecture, barely an idea. You summon opportunity to grow, to learn, in the moment you sit in. And each moment is the opportunity to know the presence of the Divine that is always here. Underline always. There is never a moment without the presence of the Divine, although your availability to it, through personality, persona, identity, may be diminished by your fear, by your idea of what is so, and the importance you give to an outcome that has not yet come.

Each of you here, in your own way, has come to be sung in a new voice. This is a new term, but it’s an important one—sung in a new voice, beyond the echo or residual affect of personality that you have determined so steadfastly must be who and what you are. Now, the dismantling of persona is a process, and we don’t make personality wrong. You have one, it’s yours, but it is not you. And that is the key to the teaching. You have one, it is yours, but it is not you. And the claim you make, I know who I am, is a decree of truth when comprehended as what it has always been, the announcement of being. Put it that way, the announcement of being: I Have Come.

Now, realization, the unfoldment toward realization, is not only a process, it’s an opportunity to dismantle personality. But understanding what personality is, and why you invest in it so, will be of importance to you here. Your guarantee when you are born is that you have blood in your veins, a heart that beats, and a mind that may know. Nothing else is guaranteed. You are not guaranteed peace, a loving home, food on the table. You are not guaranteed a marriage, or a career. You believe you should have these things, but they are not guaranteed, nor are they why you were born. You came to realize—through encounter, through opportunity, perhaps through obstacle—the truth of who and what you are that exists beyond the shell, beyond the mask of personality that you have claimed as you.

Now, because you are choosing to be born—and, in fact, you have chosen—you must understand that the True Self as you, who knows who he is, will always claim the opportunity for growth that is before him. Now, some of you decide when you are born that there will be a testament to the life that has been lived. You have come for a specific reason, to bring forth a specific quality, to know the self through certain encounters. And you must understand that each of you who comes, in his or her own way, is contributing to the whole by nature of your presence here. As the Divine informs each aspect of self, each aspect of self is called into being in a higher way. A transition occurs, and what you thought you were is actually released to become the truth of your expression. I Have Come. I Have Come. I Have Come.

Now, the dismantling of persona, while a process, is actually joyful, once you understand that all you are releasing is an idea of who you have been, were told you were, think you are, and should have been. Simple ideas, they have been so weighted, so agreed to, that they have weighed you down. And the testament to this is the vibratory accord that you base your experience through. You base your experience through the agreement to the low octave that you have been aligned to, and the guarantee of this, the promise of this, is evidenced by everything you see. You are always being taught the level of vibratory accord that you have come to through what you see, how you see it, and how it is interpreted by you. Agreement we mean as accord—a-c-c-o-r-d, a-c-h-o-r-d on a piano. As you are now sung in a collective agreement—a species, if you wish, invoking a reality—you can understand that everything that is being claimed is being claimed by the collective to grow through. This may not be apparent, but it is always so. Now, you may call a hard lesson. You may choose difficulty in order to grow through. And as you continue to force things—the agenda of the ego, the mandate of personality, the choice to be what you say you must be contrary to your true nature—the evidence of your agreement to struggle amplifies what you see. Humanity has claimed great struggle. A great denial of the Divine claims itself as struggle. When the Divine is re-known in any instance, struggle is released. Each of you decides, in a singular way, what you may claim beyond the collective. But your ideas of what may be claimed are completely informed by the collective, and the collective is testament to the belief in separation that has been accrued by it.

As we teach you, we sing to you. And the voice we sing in is not the voice of Paul, but the voice of Paul as translated in a high octave. In other words, the vehicle we sing through is in translation already to be able to sing with our language and our tone. In fact, you each are being re-articulated in just such a way. But as this occurs, the denial of the Divine, which you are participatory to, is shown to you clearly, and you are given opportunity to release the aspect of self that would define the self as separate from its Source.

Now, the decree we offer you—The truth is here, I am in truth, I am known in truth, and I know in truth—will counter many things. To align to truth, to agree to be as truth, is to agree to be the True Self at the cost of the evidence that would be contrary to this. And by that, we mean those things that would decide that they cannot be of God, will not be of God, could never be of God. When you face a shadow, you may look into the shadow, but you must understand that, even as shadow, there is light permeating it. What creates the shadow is the denial of light. But because light is all things, light must also include shadow, so there is nothing outside of the light except that which is placed there.

Now, you are an organism. You operate as an organism. The heart beats in the breast, the eyes in the head see, you breathe easy, or with difficulty, but you are an organism. And you’ve identified this organism through form and justified everything you see to create from form what you think you require. You think your well-being is your situation in your world, the evidence of your success, your self-esteem as claimed through opportunity to benefit self. You assume yourself in high ways through the accoutrements of the field, the things that have been claimed that you claim are of worth, and you do this at the denial of the Source of all of this. When you understand that there is nothing outside of God, and the form you have taken is of God, the organism that you are begins to transform, to move into like accord. The focus on manifestation in spiritual culture is actually a testament to the confusion you all hold about who and what you are. The determination to accrue objects, to accrue income, to accrue the ideas of success, has created a God that is working in commerce, that is seeking to objectify and give you what you think you should have. And, in doing thus, you actually deny the presence of the Creator that is in all things. The one who puts the beggar below the wealthy man has committed heresy. The one who decides that the hovel has no merit and she must live in a castle has also done the same. You think the castle is emblematic of success, but you have defined success as living in a castle and not living in accord with the Divine Self who will call to you what you require.

This does not exclude wealth, but it is not about wealth, nor is it about poverty. Those are simply outpicturings of consciousness, ideas made into form that you expect to learn through. When you incarnate in lack, you create opportunity to learn through lack. This doesn’t make you less than the one who is born into wealth, nor does it mean you must prove your merit by gaining wealth. To believe that is to go into collusion with a system of what is worthy based upon monetary income or gain.

Our teachings have always been the Divine Self, the complete organism, the who and the what as expressed as the Divine in a new articulation—the Christed Self, if you wish, that has come in form. Now, the Christed Self does not seek acclaim, does not seek glory, nor does she decide to hide under a rock and bear witness to what is below her and never look to the sky. The Christed Self is, in fact, embodied as form. Understand we didn’t say in, but as form, and, because the Christed Self embodied as form has its own vibratory experience, its reclamation affects the organism that it is a part of that you call the world. Every aspect of you is of one Source. Everything you see is of one Source. Everything you can imagine cannot be outside that Source. So your senses of singularity—I am Justine, I am Eric, I am Arthur, I am Jane—are simply ways that the self understands itself in singular ways while still assuming itself in plurality. I am Jane, who is of God. I am Eric, who is of God. I know who I am. I know what I am. I know how I serve.

Now, a benediction—a blessing, if you wish—upon another is to realize and know who they are in spite of what they would decide. I am Eric the millionaire, I am Jane the pauper, are simple masks, in tandem with community, that you give meaning to. But to truly know Eric or to know Jane is to see beyond the structure that personality has rendered into form, or identifies with, and reclaim them as what they have always been—of the same Source. Once you understand plurality, the we that is in expression here, the Divine as you as of the Source of its being, you become a we. And your we, as expressed, is inclusive of all things you encounter, because the vibration that is you is claiming itself in recognition of everything that it encounters. The Divine who has come as each of you will seek to claim itself in a new way, in a new song. And the sound of your song, in echo, in expression, in announcement—I Have Come, I Have Come, I Have Come—will transform not only you but the landscape you encounter.

Our identifiers, how we know who and what we are, bear little knowing to what you would claim. While we know who we are, the who is an organism, an idea, just as you are, but is not predicated on birth and death because we experience ourselves in the eternal now, and we teach to you from the Upper Room, where the eternal now is ever present. Paul is interrupting. Are you residents of the Upper Room? In fact, the Upper Room for us is an intermediary stage where you may be met. We exist beyond it, but we come here to teach because mankind, in its reckoning, is assuming its rightful place as resident of the Upper Room. So a place has been claimed for you each, and because we may meet you here through Paul as we teach from the Upper Room, as we may sing to you so you may hear us, we claim you each in recognition to what you may know. As we know ourselves, beyond time, beyond form, beyond category, beyond lineage, beyond the identifiers that humanity hangs on—Tell me the origin of your birth, tell me your lineage, tell me your name, so I may understand you—we offer you names as they are of use. You may call us this or that, but where we express is actually beyond name, and beyond the requirement of name, because in plurality there is union. There is one.

Now, what can you know about this process we intend to take you to? And the process we would describe, through the dismantling of the old, is a release upon the reliance of those things you have used for self-definition. Understand, we said reliance. You understand what a shoe is or a shoehorn is. You don’t need the shoes, but you may choose to wear them. You don’t need the shoehorn. You never have used it, you don’t need it, so it is released, or re-appropriated for some other purpose.

Everything that you encounter, anything seen or known, is in agreement to you. The descriptors you use for the self, the self-identifiers, are always in agreement to an existing form. She is too thin. He is too fat. It is always in comparison to a subject that you use as a goalpost or a measuring stick. Once the measuring stick is released, she just is, he just is. And, once he just is without the idea of what he should be, he can be who he truly is.

The identifiers through personality are operating in similar ways. I am an idea of myself should be what you introduce yourself with at every party you attend. Hi, nice to meet you. I am an idea of myself. It is nice to meet your idea of yourself. Perhaps we may find something to talk about. But, in truth, that is how you meet. Look at that young man. I would like to know him better. Look at that woman over there. Hide me behind the food so she doesn’t come my way. Your idea of who you are, who he or she is, predicates the exchange, announces agreement and discord. Now, while there is nothing wrong with appearance, and understanding personality as an abstract idea that has been claimed as form in an interchange with others, the reliance upon these things as the true identity is where you fail. The young man will one day be old. The woman who was coming toward you was really going toward the snack tray. You were hiding for no reason. The one you think you are, who should be over there, actually expresses herself better exactly where she is.

As you assume the True Self and are assumed by it, the codification of personality as the treatise, as the mandate for interchange, is released to true exchange, true interchange. You stop being the idea of self, and become the expression of self as the Monad or the True Self or the Christ who has come as you. Now, the Christed Self, who knows who he is, does not fear, does not judge, does not hold vanity, and holds a claim of relevance in any accord. The Christ is relevant in any accord, which simply means it is present and in agreement to what it encounters.

He* interrupts. Please define the Christ. The Christ, as we teach it, the aspect of the Creator that can and will be realized in form, is what we are teaching. And true expression beyond personality, the authentic self, may be called by many names. The term Christ, the word Christ, has been so misused that its reclamation to its true intent is necessary now. So we incorporate the word, and the action of the Christ, which is revelation and transformation and assumption and remembrance of union, is the action one engages in when she knows who she is. She is the one who arrives at the party and says, I Have Come. I Have Come. I Have Come. And in that remembrance of who she is, she will claim all she encounters in remembrance as well.

What is remembrance, you may ask? Quite simply, remembrance is the knowing of the inherent Divine that exists beyond persona, beyond what you have been taught or would seek to see to affirm your idea of who you think you are. Each of you here, who hears these words, is a tone in vibration assuming yourself to be other than you are. When you stop assuming yourself to be other than you are, you are revealed as what you have always been.

Our teachings in this book will be union. And we will welcome you now to the introduction of the book of love. Thank you for your presence.

We are here. We are here. We are here.

    PART ONE

    Identity

    1

    THE DENIAL OF GOD

    DAY ONE (CONT.)

Now, a few things for Paul before we continue. The text that we’ll be writing now will have two parts, One and Two. And the first part will be about identity, and Part Two will be about alchemy. If you wish to call the book Alchemy: Beyond the Known Part II, that would be acceptable to us. Our offering here is in love, and love for humanity, who is about to make a great leap in its preparation for what is to come. Underline those words, preparation for what is to come. The dismantling of structure that is already present in the forms you have known will be continuing for some time. Don’t be distracted by this. The small self, you see, who knows herself in form, creates from history and mandates what was there yesterday be there today so her security, sense of self, idea of what should be, may be solidified.

When a culture moves beyond its small self, when a country moves beyond its small self, when a civilization moves beyond its small self, there is chaos because the aspects of self that seek to cling to the old will do their damnedest to maintain the old when the new is seeking to be born. Preparation now means the level of realization that is required for humanity to maintain itself as a species as it moves to the next level of vibration. And the solidification of the next level of vibration as a template for humanity will be understood in time.

Imagine you are on an elevator between floors. What exists between one floor and the next is unseen, is uncertain, and your requirements now, individually and collectively, are to move through this passage to the next level—if you wish, the collective Upper Room—so that you may understand yourself in a completely different way than you have done thus far. All future predictions that you ascribe to are expecting what was to be the basis of what comes next. And we will promise you that is not what will occur. What you cherish now and give such value to now may not be present as you accelerate between strata. The acceleration and the lifting, between the floors, if you wish, is also a dismantling of what has been and what has been counted upon.

Now, revelation, which is re-seeing and re-knowing, must be comprehended by you as a mandate for what is to come. Each of you decides in your own way what you may align to, but the collective has mandates, and it is time for the collective to be re-sung and re-known. When you lift octaves, you leave what was—no longer required, no longer seen—so that you may see and may claim what is beyond the known.

Now, acclimation to a higher octave has been the teaching of the previous texts, and where we wish to take you now is the Resolute Self, the one who knows who she is, who will not be tampered with by the ideology of what she has been taught. This is imperative that you understand this. Realization is always dependent on re-seeing, re-knowing. It is not an abandonment of the old. It is a reconceiving of it. And realization, which is the promise of this text, as you work with it in stages, will be the way you now know the who that you are in a concretized way. When we teach identity—I know who I am—as a claim of truth, the claim is made by the Divine Self, who knows who he is and does not exist in separation. The amplitude of agreement to separation is what you have been defined by, and a redefinition is essential for humanity to continue in its process of acclimation to its own divinity, the divinity of all. Underline all. Not just you and your precious spiritual self, not just them, who you believe should be taught, but all. Everything must be re-articulated, re-sung, and claimed in the Upper Room.

Now, the template of the new, if we wish to use that word, is indeed the Kingdom, and, for the new student, the definition of the Kingdom is the awareness of the Divine in all manifestation. To be aware of something is to be in agreement to it, and agreement at this level is in tone or vibration, energetic accord—a-c-c-o-r-d, a-c-h-o-r-d as on a piano. As we have taught you thus far, the agreement to be in manifestation is the promise of incarnation, and realization of your true Source is in fact the journey of all mankind—humankind, if you wish—everything born, and everything seen, reunited in a higher level of expression that is testimony to union.

Now, the idea of union will be broached here shortly and will be taught later in concrete ways. But to understand that the thing that makes you you—the body you have taken and everything you see—is of the same Source is primary to your comprehension of what union is. If you are the light, and the tree is the light, there is only light. And what you have put outside the light, you as a human being, you as a conscious being, you as a species, has claimed you in separation. What you put in darkness calls you to the darkness. What you damn, damns you in return. And your belief that you are separate from your fellows has mandated the belief that you are separate from the Source of all things. You have chosen this. It was not done to you. And because you chose it, you can choose anew. And your recognition of what is present for you now, between these floors of expression as you align to the Upper Room and the high octave, is the realization that you are not separate because it is impossible to be so.

Well, I feel separate most days, he says. I don’t want to feel it. I cannot imagine expressing in union at any time and living my life in a state of awareness of the inherent Divine. It is not possible as the small self to align to the Kingdom, which is this level of expression. It is done through the Divine Self in articulation and assumption of the entirety of your being, and the reclamation of the entirety of your being is the teaching you are in an encounter with. You cannot reference the old to claim the Kingdom. You don’t deny it, you don’t pretend it’s not there, but you’ve moved to agreement of what is and can only be, at the cost of the old. The cost of the old simply means you have decided, in alignment, to be re-known. And as you are re-known, you re-know. You receive what expresses in a like vibrational field. And while what you know is who and what you are, your ability to perceive what truly is, is completely transformed by your engagement with the high octave.

If you don’t understand now, we are taking you to a promise of re-identification as the Divine as may be known, not theoretically but in expression. And the denial of this, that you are already this thing, is the only challenge that you will face. We cannot make you holy. You already are. But you deny it. You deny it in your skin, in what you see, and who you see. If God is all things, God is the one you can’t stand, the thing about you that you wish were not, and everyone and all things. To realize union, which will be a chapter in this text, is to realize expression—the manifest God as tone, as vibration, in an amplitude of agreement. Agreement is the most important thing that we will be teaching you now. You are in agreement to everything you see, everyone you see, by nature of accord. Again, a-c-c-o-r-d, or on a piano, a-c-h-o-r-d, which means resonance. The resonant self in tone and field is what claims an encounter with what you know of as manifestation.

Now, the degree of accord that you claim in coherence with your true nature vacillates enormously because you don’t maintain consciousness. He certainly doesn’t. Most of you don’t either. You are reactive to what you see. You are conditioned to respond to things in certain ways. Your ideas of what you require for self-preservation are so foolishly moored in your relationship to the material realm that you bypass or even ignore the divinity that is present that is the Source of all things. And as you release the small self and its agenda for how things should be, your reactive nature is released and you are assumed in a new broadcast. When you are not being pushed this way and that by anyone or anything, when you know who you are as immovable in knowing, you are not in agreement to discord because you have lifted beyond it.

Now, the presumption here, for some of you, is you will not feel things. You will become an idea of your spiritual self. And that is not this teaching. This is not about becoming emotionless—far from it. It’s about not being reactive at a level of agreement that creates separation. You may cry, you may laugh, you may enjoy, you may grieve in what we call the Upper Room, but you do so in an awareness of the presence of God that must be in all things. You are going to be challenged here to receive the True Self at the cost of your idea of what should be, because you have been so entrained by logic, by culture, by religion, and by your alignments to the reality that you were born into that the idea of a consciousness that denies fear is still your idea of what it will look like and not what it truly is. You seek awakening. You don’t understand awakening. You want realization on your own terms. You deny God when you don’t like what you see, and you claim God when you do. Your agreements to God are all born of the small self, who has painted a picture of God at the cost of truth. To know God is to be without God and with God, and in the darkness and the light, and the totality of all, the totality of nothing, all at once. You want to hear the angels sing. You want it to appear as you saw in storybooks. But the presence of God, the magnificent presence that is always here and would seek to know you in love, is denied by you because your expression still mandates what it should be.

Now, ideology about God is all well and good. Because you can’t know God until God is known, you’ve created totems, ways of understanding God, some of which are helpful. Some are horrific in their agendas. The God that will eat you alive, punish you badly, or give you everything you want because you did what it wanted, are not healthy ideas. They are not holy ideas, only in that they deny the inherent truth that God is all things.

Now, all things cannot be known, but can be received. And in the receipt, the recipient of all things is re-known in escalation and vibratory accord. Your comprehension of self and the world you live in is not only transformed, it is re-known in a new ideal that cannot be taught but can be experienced. Every effort we have made with our students thus far has been to support you in a level of alignment that coincides with vibratory accord so you can acclimate to the higher octave, the strata or vibration of what we call the Upper Room, and, consequently, the Kingdom, which is its gift. At that level, you receive the True Self in embodiment, and the claims the True Self makes upon all she sees lifts, by nature of being, what she encounters to the Upper Room. In other words, the song you are now singing sings to the world, and the world responds in song. And re-articulation is the benefit here. The denial of the Divine is the only issue that you will face. The instant you stop denying the Divine, you are in eternity as the eternal
