    STARTING THE YEAR OFF STRONG

    Strategies and Tips

    Koumé, January 2022

Who has started his year very well? Who has started his year very badly? Who has not yet started his year, he is still in 2021, it is just your body that is in 2022, the rest of you is still in 2021?

The truth is that many people have not entered 2022. I told the workers who are working on our house that when they finished the project of December 2021 that they will enter 2022 with a holiday, so, they are still in 2021. If they like, they can stay in 2021 till February. The year starts when the projects of the previous year are finished. But we are not going to tie you to last year, if you have started your year well, stand up and thank the Lord for having enabled you. Say how you have started the year without using too many words.

    Isa 40:29-31

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

    30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Whatever your condition, prepare for the race.

Are you weary? the Lord gives strength.

Are you weak? he increases power.

Do you want renewal of strength? Take time and wait upon the Lord, prepare for the take off.

How do you take off? God is the author of the speed. Here, initial velocity is flying speed. Cruising velocity is racing and finishing velocity is walking if you start by walking, you shall finish by crawling.

    Prepare for a mighty take-off.

Start the year with flying speed. Start by flying.

    What is your need?

Are you weary? He gives strength.

    Say:

God gives strength to those who are tired.

Are you old? He renews strength.

    Say:

God gives youthfulness to the old. Even those who are old at 20.

If you wait upon the Lord, if you expect help from God, he will renew your strength.

If you have something to do and you need the Lord, He will renew your strength, so that you can start well.

    How do you start? Fly!

    How do you start? Fly!

They told us in class that missile velocity meets resistance forces in the air, but if you start flying, and you meet storms and frictions, they will slow you down to running. But if you start by walking, when you meet resistance and your speed slows down will you even be able to crawl?

God is there to meet needs. If you are slow, exhausted, old or you have lost virility, His presence supplies what vitamins cannot produce. His presence supplies what naturopathy cannot provide.

Whatever the condition in which you find yourself, whatever your condition, prepare to begin the year well. And the prophet says, to begin well, take off. Do not sat I shall start little by little and then pick up speed.

    Start each day strong,

    Start each week strong!

    Start the month strong!

    Start strong!

Pray that the brethren will take off the year.

    Start the year strong!

    Strike from the beginning.

    GROWTH AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Koumé, January 2022

Brother Philip will tell us how they have started the year in the land of cold.

    Praise the Lord!

My name is Philip Donald, our missionary from Cameroon to the United Kingdom. Married to Ruth, née Fomum. We have two daughters. We serve the Lord as missionaries in the UK and from the UK. I am one of brother Theodore’s ministry assistants, serving the Lord in the nations, in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and on planet earth.

Until the convention 2019, I had personally done more than 200 missionary journeys in nine years. In the last two years, for enough travelling before the convention my body has known a change. When the lock down started in March 2020, my body begun to come back to itself. Every morning I was either at the east or the west of the equator. When we go to the east, we lose time and with the kind of nations that we used to visit, some have a delay of 8-9 hours. And when we go west, we gain time. So when the lock down came, I was struggling to understand how my body functions. So in the last two years, my body has just come back to normal. So if someone asks me, what has happened to me in the last two years, one of them is that my body has come back. When someone travels by air, there are a lot of things that affects his body. So, my body was seldom with me. I did not know what time I was supposed to sleep and what time I was supposed to wake up.

But the borders are opening, so 2022, my team and I, we are going to visit at least 30 countries; we have two major tasks:

Consolidating the nations, because prior to the convention 2019, we had gone to some nations only once, so there is the critical need to go back and see what is happening

The penetration of new territories, doors opened in Singapore, Japan, Israel and has given us a seed in Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica. So those are the first five territories we are going to visit in the first few months.

We’ve started 2022 in another part of the United Kingdom. We are actually present in the centre of the country, London is in the south and that is where we have functioned for the last 25 years. When we went back after the last RAM in September, the Lord gave us a leader’s house in the Midlands of the country with five bedrooms and three living rooms; it is big. From our standard it is really big, because that same house in London will cost close to a million pounds.

While we were moving there, we thought that there was a local church, but when we got there, we were surprised that there were just a few believers, no church of our ministry. Since the turn of the year, we had to start a local church, we have met for three Sundays.

On the first Sunday we were 18.

    Second Sunday we were 21

And last Sunday, four days ago, we were 28.

So, we thank God that there is progress.

Since the year started till now, I make sure that I spend time (between 8-10 hours) with God daily and I read 20 chapters of my Bible faithfully.

The year has started well. I have come to receive instructions form brother Theodore for this year, and we have faith that this year, we will do a lot.

    Praise the lord!

    We started the year with the launching of the SKSG Caribbean from seven nations;

    Belize,

    Trinidad and Tobago,

    Jamaica,

    St. Lucia,

    St. Johns and

    London.

Because of the restrictions, we are having these courses on line on zoom.

In 2021, for new horizons, we spent 123.300 pounds for missions and missionaries. We thank God for provisions.

    May God bless you.

    Bro Theodore

So, in the income of the ministry, brother John Willy will now add what the auxiliary base in London spent in New Horizons. For the missions and for missionary allowances.

When people talk about money, how many missionaries are you sponsoring?

    Brother Philip

    In India: 200

At the moment, we have 1450 pastors and missionaries in India, Bhutan, Nepal Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. So what happens is, we send allowances to 400 pastors in India, and with the labours over the years, we have started raising funds in India that subsidize the pastors and missionaries in Bhutan, in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. And now we have added Andaman and Nicobar. So at the moment, we are actually sending missionary allowances to at least 410 missionaries every month.

    Bro Theodore

So, the base in London carries the sending of monthly allowances to 410 missionaries. It helps brother Philip and the team with him to grow in leadership and faith and dependence on God.

So, when financial needs come up in the department that you carry and you don’t take the advantage to grow, other people, much younger than you facing difficulties will grow faster.

To carry (pay) 410 missionaries every month, is pressure on the mind that very few people can understand, but it helps you to grow in faith, to grow in assurance, to grow as you see God, five years, six years.

    Brother Philip

From what brother Theodore is saying, I have known times when I have just wept every time when the month is approaching the end, because I cannot tell the missionaries that we don’t have money. Once, in my despair, I called one of our churches in the West, begging for help and they told me they can’t. in my desperation, the next day, I received a mail from the post with a cheque of 12,000 pounds, that is about 8-9 sums, which was exactly what we needed.

And another time, the funds were deflated, and we received another cheque of 12000 pounds. It has happened twice. We have seen God at work.

We don’t know where the cheques came from. God has been faithful, very faithful, and we have truly learned and we are learning to depend on Him.

    Praise the Lord!

Wherever God has placed you, you can grow, if you embrace responsibilities. I have watched some people grow, because they embraced difficulties.

In the leader’s office, I have seen Margaret learn to give, and then, I have seen her take some charges that helped her to enlarge her faith: Charges that she could just go there and ask, like every other person does, but it makes people grow.

When we sent out 75 missionaries when I was a young missionary in Nigeria, the monthly pressure! You can hear the words
