Super-Short Stories for English Learners B1-B2 (Intermediate) - Smart and Easy English
Preface
Welcome to this collection of short stories designed for English learners! These stories are perfect for those at B1 to B2-levels. They have simple plots, with varied and familiar themes that you'll surely recognize and love. They are also very short for quick reading, making them ideal for enjoying even if you don't have a lot of time - for example, on your mobile device while on the go.
How to Read
For maximum benefit, we recommend reading each story three times. On your first read, simply enjoy the story without stopping to look up any vocabulary. It's normal not to understand everything at this point - focus on grasping the general ideas and themes.
On your second read, take the time to look up any words or phrases that you don't understand. This will help you to build your vocabulary and deepen your comprehension.
Finally, on your third read, you should be able to understand most everything. Use this opportunity to reinforce your knowledge and gain greater insight into the story.
Remember, reading and re-reading these stories is the most effective and natural way to improve your English. As you do so, you'll subconsciously learn proper grammar and usage, and gradually develop a more native-sounding proficiency. So take your time, enjoy these short stories, and reap the benefits of your enhanced English language skills.

On one of these yachts, the guests were preparing for a night of indulgence and luxury. The champagne was flowing, the caviar was being served, and the music was just beginning to pick up.
Among the guests was a young girl named Annette, the daughter of a successful businessman who had made his fortune in the tech industry. Annette was used to this world of excess and indulgence, and she had attended many such parties before. But tonight was different. Tonight, something terrible would happen, and Annette's world would be turned upside down.
As the night wore on and the party grew more raucous, Annette found herself enchanted by a handsome young man named Max. Max was charming and funny, and Annette felt a connection with him that she had never felt with anyone
