It is always best to start with a clean slate, an open mind. 

     

    Years ago, the early Christians were seen as eclectic individuals. They were considered strange, following the way of love. It is also interesting to note that many of them were pagans, and it is not unusual to find records of early Christians who were also practicing magicians and witches. Even today, I personally know many magical practitioners who find genuine spirituality in Jesus Christ. 

     

    It should be noted that Christian mysticism is not new. In fact, there are those who believe that the fullness of Christ's teaching is actually in the very order of mysticism. If only people would look closer into the teachings of Christ, they would see a greater depth, a taste of divinity. 

     

    It is also noteworthy that occultism is also very spiritual. Although some people these days view occultism as mere practice of dark or black magic, this is actually false. The word occult simply means hidden. It is hidden because we simply do not recognize it. It is said that all these marvelous things are present all around us, even right in front of us, but we just do not see them. This is where mysticism comes in as it allows us to see and recognize the wonders of the Divine unfolding at every moment.
