      Chapter 1: The Awakening

      Sarah woke, her senses tingling. The room was dimly lit, shadows dancing on the walls. She sat up, feeling a strange energy coursing through her veins. It was as if the night itself had seeped into her being.

      She swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stood, her movements deliberate but unsteady. She couldn't explain the sensation, but it drew her toward the window. The moon hung low in the night sky, casting an eerie glow across the landscape.

      Her heart pounded as she reached for the window latch. With a creak, the window swung open, and a cool breeze washed over her. The moonlight flooded in, bathing her in its ethereal light.

      Sarah extended her hand toward the moon, and as her fingers grazed its surface, a surge of power coursed through her. It was unlike anything she had ever felt before. She felt connected to the very essence of the night, as if the moon itself had chosen her.

      Unsure of what was happening, she withdrew her hand and backed away from the window. The room felt different now, charged with an energy she couldn't comprehend. She glanced around, her eyes falling on an old family photo on the wall.

      In the picture, she saw her parents, both smiling, their faces illuminated by the moonlight.
