I'm a Bully... Help! - Derick Van den Berg
Chapter I
In the quiet town where Bobby lived, there was something about him that made people give him a wide berth. He wasn't like other kids his age. While they laughed and played together, Bobby stood apart, a lonely figure on the sidelines.
Bobby had tousled hair that seemed to have a mind of its own, and his eyes sparkled mischievously. He looked like any other 12-year-old, but there was a problem. A big problem.
Bobby was known as the school bully.
Every morning, as the school bell chimed, and students gathered in the courtyard, Bobby couldn't resist the urge to show off his power. He'd strut around, his shoulders back, and his chin up, looking for someone to target. He thought it made him strong, but it only made him feared and disliked.
He'd taunt other kids, poking fun at their clothes, their voices, and even the way they walked. He'd laugh loudly when they stumbled over their words or dropped their books, and his laughter was like a thunderstorm that soaked everyone in misery.
No one dared to stand up to Bobby. They would lower their heads and walk away, their faces red with embarrassment or wet with tears. The whole school had learned to avoid him, for they knew that crossing Bobby meant inviting trouble.
But here's the secret Bobby couldn't tell anyone: deep down, he didn't want to be a bully. He didn't want to hurt people or make them cry. He just didn't know how to stop.
One sunny afternoon, as he watched the other children playing together, something inside Bobby stirred. It was a feeling he had been avoiding for a long time - a knot of sadness and loneliness in his stomach. He knew he had to do something about it. He couldn't go on hurting others and feeling so alone.
And so, our story begins with Bobby, a boy who desperately needs help but is afraid to ask for it, whispering to himself, Help me, I am a bully.
Bobby's Reputation
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, Bobby's reputation as the school bully grew. It wasn't a reputation anyone would be proud of, but it was the one he had earned.
Teachers would exchange worried glances when they saw him coming, and parents would warn their children to steer clear of Bobby. His name had become synonymous with trouble, and everyone knew to be on their guard when he was around.
Bobby's favorite target was a boy named Timmy, a shy and gentle soul who loved reading books about adventures in faraway lands. Timmy's love for books made him an easy target for Bobby's taunts. Bobby would often snatch Timmy's books, laugh at the colorful covers, and call him names like Bookworm Timmy.
But it wasn't just Timmy who suffered. Bobby's sharp words and hurtful pranks could strike anyone at any time. He'd make fun of the way kids talked, the way they looked, and even the way they laughed. No one was safe from his cruelty.
The schoolyard, once a place of laughter and games, had become a battleground of fear and anxiety. Children would whisper about Bobby's latest antics, sharing stories of humiliation and tears. And as they talked, they'd cast nervous glances over their shoulders, hoping not to catch his eye.
Despite all the pain he caused, Bobby felt a strange emptiness inside him. He didn't enjoy making others suffer, but he didn't know how to stop. It was as if he
